Journal Entry #41 - Masky

May 23rd 2013 - 6:15 Pm

As I said before, I went to do some research. I found an interesting fact about the Slenderman. He has a Proxy. A “henchman” of sorts. Someone to warn others of their impending doom, or to do Slender’s dirty work. The latest proxy Slender has had, is a character called “Masky”, and usually is depicted with a white mask, and black eyes. Nothing about a red cloak, but not everyone knows everything. This much is clear: Slender has a Proxy. The other thing about Masky, is that he is completely human, or so my sources say. He might have gained “powers”, being Slender’s Proxy, but he is, in every sense, human. That means he could be an everyday pedestrian, someone I’ve met while I’ve been here even!

The next thing I researched was Duncan Woods’ history. I found exactly what I was searching for. The key to the gate, evidently, was lost when the gatekeeper died, so they had to close the gate. Now, you can get into the woods anywhere, but the gate was there for the official entrance.

Is there a connection between the key and Slender’s Proxy? Did I find something they didn’t want found? Why don’t they want me to find it? Why didn’t Masky stop me?

I continued to research. The gatekeeper’s name, I found, was Glenn Eaton. I’ll have to see if there’s anything else on him, but for now, that’s as far as I’ll be able to go.

I think I’ll go to the library. Maybe I can find something in some old newspapers, or perhaps someone there can lend me some more info.

Looks like I need to, “read up” on some things…

Journal Entry #40 - The OTHER man in the woods

May 22nd, 2013 - 7:24 Pm

I went to the woods yesterday. What started as a search for the Slenderman ended up turning into something completely different.

I went back to the lake I found. Looking in my mirror, I did not see Slender. I decided to sit a bit and take in a little bit of nature. It was amazing how scary a beautiful place like this could become, all because of one man. One man can make such a difference it seems.

I took my shoes and socks off and dipped my toes into the lake. Upon touching the water’s surface, I reeled my legs back. The water was warm! It felt amazing! I slowly put my hand in and let the warm water soak my palm. That’s when I noticed something shine at the bottom of the lake. Interestingly enough, the lake was extremely clear, and I was able to see most of the plants and such at the bottom, as well as a metallic rod shaped object. So I did what most sensible people would do.

I stripped my shirt off and dove in.

My, the water felt wonderful. I wanted to stay here forever. But I swam to the bottom and grabbed the object. Once on shore, I examined it. It was a key. A big fat, bronze key.

I looked up. I wish I hadn’t. There, from the other side of the lake, a man was staring right at me. It wasn’t Slender. It was… something else. A man in a mask. I whipped out my cell-phone and snapped a picture, but he disappeared. Somehow, I managed to catch him in the picture as he ran away, but I missed the face.

The biggest thing I noticed was his white face, and black eyes. Something told me I’d be seeing him more often.

I left the woods in no hurry. I wasn’t very disturbed by what I had seen. Just curious, and more annoyed with even more questions that needed to be answered.

I’ll be doing some more research tomorrow, and will update asap.

Until then…
