I woke up this morning, ready to take on the day. Carpe Diem, seize the day!
I decided that today, I would go chat with Edward's parents again. it's been 42 days since his disappearance, just over a month, and I figured I should touch base with them. I arrived at their house, to find a black car parked in front of their house. The windows were tinted, and there were two men in black standing at the front door. They had just approached the door when I arrived. Upon stepping out of my car, the two men turned towards me and stared at me. I couldn't make out their faces, and their eyes were covered by black sunglasses.
Idiots, it was a cloudy day, ya morons. You look ridiculous.
After staring at eachother for a solid few seconds, the men walked back to their car, driving away. I assumed these were the men in black, being dressed in...black and all... kinda obvious...
I was soon sitting in the Straussen's livingroom. Edward's sister, Cat, poured me tea, and disappeared with a book. The Mr. and Mrs. (Catrina and Alonzo) sat across from me on the couch.
"The police have nothing. No leads, no bodies, no witnesses... there's nothing.." Alonzo fretted.
Tears rolled down Catrina's cheek. "We're just at a complete loss, and have almost given up all hope that he's even alive... what with what happened with Kayle and all..."
I simply nodded. "Did Edward ever mention anything strange?"
Catrina shook her head slowly. "He kept to himself, more so the last few months he was with us. We're worried he knew the kidnapper, and was threatened not to say anything."
I nodded again. "I'm doing all i can to find out exactly what happened."
Cat came back in with more tea, filling my now empty glass. I made eye contact with her, and she did the same with me. "You wouldn't know anything that could help with the investigation, would you?" I asked her.
She continued to stare at me, expressionless... yet it almost seemed like she was ever so slightly...
Amused.
Shaking her head, she turned away, once again buried in her book.
I soon afterwards returned to my room, thinking over the case for the millionth time.
And in case you're wondering, no, I don't think it's a good idea to tell them that a creepy tall man was haunting the woods and kidnapping children. They wouldn't believe me, and they'd think I was crazy.
On another note, Cat gives me the creeps... and I wonder if there's a reason for that. I suppose we'll see.
I'm getting closer to the end of this investigation... I know it...
It won't be much longer...

Journal Entry #43
May 28th, 2013 - 9:12 Pm
Fred emailed me Saturday. He said that no more
Mothman sightings have been confirmed as of late… all except for one. He told
me that it was a strange sighting, because he was sighted just south of the New
York border.
Going west young moth?
…
Sorry.
Besides that, nothing new has come around. I haven’t
been able to track down anyone who might know more about Eaton’s death. I
checked the coroners’ report, but of course, it wasn’t on record. It was most
likely destroyed, of course.
The men in black. Every location I seem to go to,
they’ve been there first. Loch Ness, New York City, Grandhaven… they’ve
seemed to pop up in each place. There’s only one thing connecting them: an
urban legend. Nessie, Mothman, Slenderman, all creatures of the unknown.
New objective: find out who the men in black are.
If I’ve only learned one thing, it’s that I should
be asking the stupid questions, like what the men in black look like. I
probably could’ve estimated their ages that way.
Now
for a lead…

Journal Entry #30 - Dead End
April 30th, 2013 - 7:23 Pm
For the past week I've been trying to find the whereabouts of Edward Strausen, but I just can't seem to figure this out. It's like all of a sudden everything's back to normal, save for Edward's disappearance. The police have given up, the family's have put it behind them, and a funeral is being scheduled for next week.
What can I possibly do except wander around the woods again? It got me nowhere last time, and besides that incident I have no leads of the slightest manner. It's quite frustrating.
I don't know how much longer I can stay, having stated the above. Unless I get some good leads, I'll have to leave the case alone. At least for now.
Until next time...
